HOW I'VE BEEN SPENDING MY SPARE TIME

Student Organizations

solar_car_edited_edited_edited.jpg

GT Solar Racing | Mechanical Lead, Shop Manager | 2019 - Present

I lead the mechanical systems revamp of the team’s current workhorse solar-electric vehicle, where we replaced the carbon fiber aerobody and upgraded the frame, among other things. Also, as the team's Shop Manager, I co-authored team-wide plans for operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

FRC Team 449 | Fabrication Lead, Project Lead | 2015-2019

I rapidly developed and manufactured mechanisms to produce effective designs while maximizing time for robot testing. Additionally, I led workshops for 30+ new members annually to improve team readiness for build & competition season.

Blair3Sat | Mechanical Design Lead | 2018 - 2019

Blair3Sat is a student-run CubeSat team at my high school that is building a small satellite to study Earth's ionosphere. During the team's first couple of years, I developed models of potential CubeSat designs to define the spacecraft's capabilities and mission scope.

Smart Structures and Dynamical Systems Laboratory | 2023 - Present

I'm working on piezoelectric-composite-based underwater robot locomotion. I'm designing the SSDSL's third generation robotic fish, as well as supporting a robotic lamprey project with FSU.

Space Systems Design Laboratory | 2021 - 2022

I iterated on the UHF antenna mount assembly for the GT-2 CubeSat to reduce mass and complexity while improving packaging and in-orbit deployment reliability

Dynamic Adaptive Robotic Technologies Laboratory | 2020 - 2020

I designed a single-axis rail system that will be used to develop dynamic positioning methods for slung loads. Using SolidWorks, I produced several iterations, eventually striking a balance between cost, manufacturability, and performance.

Personal Projects

Custom Mechanical Keyboard | 2020 - 2021

I designed and fabricated a custom mechanical keyboard as a combined birthday + Christmas gift for my sister. I ordered a pre-made Sinc 75 PCB, and made everything else from scratch.

FPV Quadcopters | 2020 - Present

I got into the hobby of FPV drone flying at the beginning of Summer 2020 as a fun way to spend my spare time and as a gateway into aerial autonomy. I learned a lot about how all the different components come together, forming a foundation of knowledge I can leverage when I start building an autonomous system.
